This Tiger Weathervane is
probably one of our most spectacular weathervane designs. First the tiger
is one of the most magnificent animals on earth - how can you go wrong working
with such a superb subject? Then add a snarling face for drama, gold and
palladium leafing to create the dramatic contrast of its markings, hand hammered
fur texture, custom made glass tiger eyes and beautifully shaped powerful
musculature. This is a vane you really have to see in person to fully
appreciate the visual impact of the tiger's presence.
The tiger (Panthera tigris)
is a mammal of the Felidae family, one of four "big cats" in the Panthera
genus. Native to the mainland of southeastern Asia, the tiger is an apex
predator and the largest feline speciesin the world, comparable in size to the
biggest fossil felids. The Bengal Tiger is the most common subspecies of tiger,
constituting approximately 80% of the entire tiger population, and is found in
India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Nepal. It is the national animal of
India. An endangered species, the majority of the world's tigers now live in
captivity.
Many of our customers like to place several of
our weathervanes on the various roof peaks of their homes or out-buildings,
creating a "theme". Other African animal weathervanes which might peak
your interest: Lions,
Elephants,
Hippos,
Giraffes and the
Rhinoceros. |
